Sarracenia leucophylla Sumter
Sarracenia leucophylla ‘Sumter’ is a clonal selection from an original division shared by plantsman Doug Walker from a population in Sumter County in central Georgia. We’ve spent the last few years dividing our original plant until we had enough to share. The 2′ tall pitchers are green toward the bottom with bright white tops nicely netted in crimson. New pitchers are produced in early spring and again in fall. The crowning touch is the display of stunning, bright red, saucer-like flowers that adorn the clump just as the spring pitchers emerge!
