Sarracenia flava Very Close Veins
Sarracenia flava ‘Very Close Veins’ is our name for a strain of the Southeast US native Sarracenia flava in which the top of the tube is adorned with a lovely pattern of intricate red veins…instead of the typical solid yellow. Since these are a seed strain, the veining on each plant is different. In late winter/early spring, the tardily deciduous clumps are topped with stalks of upside down yellow swamp umbrellas…truly amazing. Moist, but not constantly wet soils and bright sun are the keys to being successful. As a soil mix, it’s hard to beat straight peat moss or cut half with sand.
