Salvia leucantha White Mischief
Salvia leucantha ‘White Mischief’ is an Ian Smith introduction…the latest variant of the popular Mexican bush sage, Salvia leucantha. For us, Salvia ‘White Mischief’ forms a huge 4′ tall x 8′ wide clump in a single season when planted in rich soils. The terminal stalks of fuzzy white flowers nearly obscure the narrow green leaves, starting in late September (NC). For Mexican bush sage to survive well north of Zone 8, the soil must remain dry during very cold periods. Salvia ‘White Mischief’ makes a truly stunning statement in the garden, being visible from at least a hundred feet away.
