Rohdea japonica Mure Suzume
Like a miniature evergreen hosta, this dwarf but vigorously growing rohdea makes small rosettes, to 6″ wide x 4″ tall, of narrow green leaves with white streaking that intensifies toward the edges of the leaf. Established clumps of R. ‘Mure Suzume’, which translates to “flock of sparrows”, will produce short stalks of bright red berries in late fall…a limited collector’s edition (not associated with the Franklin Mint) plant for a special site in the woodland garden.
