Mangave Silver Fox PP 29642
xMangave ‘Silver Fox’ is an absolute stunner. This 2017 Walters Gardens introduction is a horticultural ménage à trois, combining genes from Agave gypsophila ssp. pablocarrilloi and Agave macroacantha, while adding spotting from a willing, but nameless manfreda. The cross resulted in an elegant 11″ tall x 22″ wide specimen composed of recurved, silver-grey leaves, each edged in a solid row of tiny, non-dangerous teeth. xMangave ‘Silver Fox’ is also adorned with 9′ tall spikes of lovely yellow flowers and, unlike their agave parents, xmangaves don’t die after flowering. If you garden in a region that gets more than a light frost in winter you’ll probably want to grow this in a container that can be brought indoors.
