Mangave Freckles and Speckles PP 30904
xMangave ‘Freckles and Speckles’ is a 2017 introduction from Hans Hansen’s breeding work at Walters Gardens. From a complex cross involving Agave macroacantha, Agave geminiflora, Agave pablocarrilloi, a couple of manfredas, and a long period of labor, xMangave ‘Freckles and Speckles’ was born. The 8″ tall x 19″ wide clump is composed of thick, fleshy, pointed leaves, that are green with an overlay of medium-sized purple blotches, and edged with hard rubbery hacksaw-like teeth. Mature plants are topped with a 6′ tall flower spike.
