Lycoris straminea Strawberry Lemonade
Lycoris x straminea ‘Strawberry Lemonade’ is a 2016 Plant Delights introduction of a plant we originally obtained from plantsman Jim Waddick in 2000. Lycoris ‘Strawberry Lemonade’ is a cross of Lycoris chinensis x Lycoris radiata var. pumila, that’s proved exceptional and vigorous in our trials, with an unrivaled flower density. The 22″ tall stalks are topped with peach-flushed buds, starting in mid-August (NC), which open to creamy white flowers with a salmon flush to the petal backs. Over a few days, the flowers transition to a lovely salmon-peach. The foliage emerges in fall and persists all winter.
