Lycoris radiata var pumila Adams August
Lycoris ‘Adam’s August’ is 2013 Plant Delights Nursery introducton of a diploid form of the popular Lycoris radiata var. pumila that starts flowering for us in early to mid-August, filling a gap in the flowering time of other more commonly grown July and September forms of Lycoris radiata. The 16″ tall spikes appear almost overnight and are topped with spidery flower heads of brilliant scarlet red. The narrow foliage emerges after flowering in late September and remains green all winter. Thanks to world class lycoris specialist Phillip Adams for sharing.
