Kniphofia Yellow Cheer
Kniphofia ‘Yellow Cheer’ has been one of our favorite red hot pokers, since we imported it from South Africa in 1995, so it’s long overdue for us to share. This Kniphofia rooperi hybrid is a fall blooming clone, starting for us in late August, and continuing until a hard freeze. The wide, glossy green, rigidly upright foliage looks great all spring and summer, even before it’s topped with 4.5′ tall spikes, terminating in large, compressed fluorescent golden-orange flower heads. This is truly an outstanding selection for garden designers.
