Hedychium Tai Monarch
Hedychium ‘Tai Monarch, from ginger breeder, Doyle Smittle, ‘ makes a 50″ tall clump, clothed with large 22″ long x 4.5″ wide, tropical-esque leaves. Each stalk is topped from midsummer until fall with huge 12″ or larger flower heads. Each flower head is composed of more than 100 light yellow (RHS 4D) flowers with a darker yellow eye and the intoxicatingly strong fragrance of honeysuckle. Hedychium ‘Tai Monarch’ has proven to be a fantastic ginger lily in our trial gardens.
