Eucomis pallidiflora ssp pole evansii
Eucomis pole-evansii is certainly the king of the pineapple lilies. In the wild, this amazing species can reach 6′ in height. So far, we have achieved only a miniscule 3′ tall in our garden. Resembling the other eucomis species, E. pole-evansii makes an upright rosette of thick, glossy, strap-like leaves. In June and July, the clumps are topped with giant pineapple-like stalks of flowers that can reach as high as 6’…someday.
