(aka Buddleia NCSU 2005-029) From NCSU plant breeder Dennis Werner, comes an incredibly compact, complex butterfly bush hybrid. By using genes from several species including Buddleia davidii, Buddleia lindleyana, and Buddleia globosa, Buddleia ‘Purple Haze’ was effectively neutered, so no pesky seedlings will be showing up unexpectedly. In the garden, you’ll enjoy a 3′ tall x 6’+ wide clump, adorned throughout the summer with an amazing number of drooping inflorescences of medium purple…a favorite of low-flying butterflies and darting hummingbirds.
