Baptisia First Blush
Baptisia ‘First Blush’ is a 2018 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction from a series of crosses that include Baptisia minor, Baptisia albescens, and Baptisia tinctoria. The 52″ spikes include 15″ of flowers that emerge as pink buds with a yellow base, that age to white against the charcoal grey stalks. Baptisia ‘First Blush’ is a later flowering selection that doesn’t start for us until mid-May, which is nearly a month after the early flowering baptisias. The new growth emerges brown, which adds another unique feature to this selection.
