Aspidistra sp China Sun
(Aka: Aspidistra sp. QCS-III-L) Aspidistra ‘China Sun’ is a cool cast iron plant (possibly a new species) that was wild-collected by Dr. Jim Waddick from the Qing Cheng San Mountains of Sichuan in 1985 and introduced by Plant Delights in 1999. Each 20″ long x 2.25″ wide leaf is speckled with pale, light-yellow dots. This is the most vigorous of the “China” series of cast iron plants. Each clump of Aspidistra ‘China Sun’ makes a nice, loose-growing specimen clump or may be massed in the woodland garden.
