Agave nickuilla Pointed Traveler
Agave ‘Pointed Traveler’ is a hybrid between Agave nickelsiae x A. lechuguilla that we picked out from a seed block at the wonderful Mountain States Nursery in Arizona. The 1′ wide x 10″ tall rosettes of upwardly curved, triangular green leaves spread by underground runners as far as 2′ away from the parent rosette. A. ‘Pointed Traveler’ inherited the thick leaves from A. nickelsiae and the leaf-curving, speckled outer leaf surface, and spreading habit from A. lechuguilla. So far, our plants have survived 8 degrees F with no problem.
