Adiantum japonicum
(aka: Adiantum pedatum v. japonicum, Adiantum aleuticum v. japonicum) This poor fern has been carelessly tossed about from one species to another but has finally been determined to be its own species. Adiantum japonicum is essentially a 1′ tall form of northern maidenhair fern whose new growth emerges a lovely pinkish red. Average to slightly moist woodland garden soils are best. We are pleased to offer this rarely available but excellent deciduous hardy garden fern.
