Agave gypsophila ssp pablocarrilloi
I couldn’t believe this was really an agave when I first saw an image taken at a garden in Thailand. The grey-blue heavily ripped leaves and small closely-set teeth make this stunning 2′ tall x 3′ wide conversation piece look more like a cross of an agave and a bromeliad. Hailing from calcarous soils including pure gypsum in southern Mexico, A. gypsophila ssp. pablocarrilloi is easy-to-grow, but is best treated as a tropical houseplant in cold climates. Our offerings are divisions from an exceptionally nice clone…a very limited supply.
