Epimedium davidii
This rarely offered clump-forming Chinese species is one of the most spectacular epimediums for milder climates. It was the only epimedium selected for inclusion in the book “Rare and Precious Plants of China”. The spiny evergreen leaflets (Zone 7 south) give rise to 18″ spikes of large, yellow, spider-like flowers (with contrasting red bands on the back) dangling from the stem from very early spring, repeating through most of the summer…plant several for a nice mass.
